On Monday, August 17, Rare Sea joined our artist-in-residence, Jason Ting, for a Morning Soundwalk led by Officine Gặp and artist Hoàng Vũ, exploring the shifting soundscapes of Thanh Đa–Bình Quới.

Starting near the boat pier in Thanh Đa, we will wander through the area’s residential complexes – chung cư before making our way towards Bình Quới. This neighborhood is caught between old residential life on the edges of the river and the rising tides of new development, creating a landscape that feels in transition, suspended between different forms of urban development. Our soundwalk will tune into this transition as a way of moving between different sonic conditions and noticing how these different environments come together.

This soundwalk is part of Jason Ting’s residency. As Jason will spend the morning walking and listening alongside Officine Gặp and Hoàng Vũ, we can also learn more about his practice and how this soundwalk will relate to his on-going residency project in Saigon.
