What is a dummy photobook? Why should photographic practitioners care about handmaking their dummy photobook in the age of digital reproduction and online image sharing? And how do one make a handmade dummy photobook? Stemming from these basic and foundational questions of professional photography, this Spring, Rare Sea warmly invites you to explore dummy book making in the Workshop Dummy Book 101, hosted by artist Lê Nguyên Phương.
This four-session workshop will equip participants with foundational skills to create a complete handmade dummy photobook:
📍The workshop will focus on the practical aspects of photobook production, including hands-on guidance on design software, print preparation, bookbinding techniques, and paper selection.
🔖 By the end of the course, participants will leave with a unique publication developed from their own photographic project.
💥 At the conclusion of Session 4, participants will have a small, intimate Open Studio session, where they can present their completed dummy books to the wider communities.
